The exercise routine
The successful passing of the course requires the application of theoretical
and practical skills presented in the lectures. This is done by doing exercises.
The student should return the exercises so that they can be graded.
To
be able to take the course it is required that at least 12 of the 20 exercise
questions are correctly solved. If the student has correctly solved
12 exercise questions, he/she will get 2 additional points to the examination.
More points may be earned by solving more exercises. If all of the 20 exercises
are correctly solved the student earns 4 additional points to the examination.
Please note that the exercise points you receive during this spring
are only valid as long as there are examinations given based on the lectures
of spring 2002. In effect, this means that the last opportunity to utilize
the points will be on January 2003 with the last examination on the course
based on spring 2002 lectures. If you haven't used your points by January
2003 you must participate in the exercises again. Contents of the course
is likely to change significantly from 2003.
The participation to the exercise lectures is not obligatory,
although it is recommended. However, the exercises are given in Finnish
while all of the exercise material is provided in English.
The exercises should be returned before the start of the exercise
lecture to the box with the course code (s-38.120) marked under the
laboratory notice board on G-wing 2nd floor. Return of the exercises via
email is also accepted, although the student himself is responsible for
the timely delivery of the exercise answers. Please, note that the exercises
have to be returned before the exercise starts.
There will be five exercise lectures in total:
