Note!

Ad Hoc and Sensor Networks

Topic: In Fall 2004, the course will deal with Ad Hoc and Sensor Networks.

Material: The course will be based on the following sessions of IEEE Infocom 2004 conference:

  1. Sensor Networks I
  2. Performance Analysis of Ad Hoc Networks
  3. Routing in Ad Hoc Networks
  4. Resource Allocation and QoS in Ad Hoc Networks
  5. Energy Conservation in Ad Hoc Networks
  6. Group Communications in Ad Hoc Networks
The conference papers are available on page Technical Program. Each student reads and reviews four papers selected from the same session. The selected papers are listed on page Selected Papers. In addition he/she prepares two presentations based on two of these papers. One of these presentations (selected at random) will be given in a seminar session.

Status: The present course can be included in postgraduate studies on Teletraffic Theory (or on Telecommunications Technology according to the old study plan).

To whom: The course is primarily meant for postgraduate students of teletraffic theory having an interest in understanding the performance analysis and dimensioning of communication networks.

Prerequisites: S-38.143 (Queueing Theory) recommended.

Organisation: The course will be arranged as a seminar (meetings once per week). The working language is English. The first meeting of the course will be held on

From 25.10. on, the seminar sessions will be held weekly on Mondays 16-20 in the same room E110. Each session consists of two presentations followed by the justified review reports from both reviewers. For a more detailed information, see page Schedule.
