Research

Current research project

I am currently working in the European Celtic MEVICO project.

The task of our research group is to develop Customer Edge Switching (CES) technology and, in particular, to apply it to the Evolved Packet System (EPS) in the System Architecture Evolution (SAE). Specifically, we are enhancing the CES concept with the Customer Edge Traversal Protocol (CETP), Application Layer Gateways (ALGs), mobility solutions, policy control and identity management. We also perform protocol compatibility testing.

Past research projects

June 2009 - Dec. 2010 Future Internet SHOK
Development of the Customer Edge Switching (CES) concept. Prototyping.
May 2007 - Project DECICOM
Development of distributed search algorithms and indexing strategies, especially aimed for mobile peer-to-peer. Application and scalability study of P2P-SIP. Based on the results of user studies developement of group management for peer-to-peer networks. Research includes prototyping, simulation, mathematical analysis and user trials.
Oct. 2004 - Apr. 2007 Project MobileP2P
Feasibility study, including technical evaluation and user studies, of peer-to-peer based applications in the Internet Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). Development of prototype for using peer-to-peer in cellular networks. The prototype includes a Symbian application and the supporting network elements.
Jan. 2003 - Dec. 2005 Project MobileMAN
Development of clustering algorithms for Ad Hoc networks in order to provide efficient routing and service discovery. Development of routing and service discovery algorithms.
Feb. 2002 - Dec. 2002 Project INTERO
Design of solutions for providing number portability between the circuit switched and IP telephony networks. Continued development of the CTRIP protocol. Licentiate thesis.
Aug. 2000 - Jan. 2002 Project IMELIO
Design of telephony routing protocol, named CTRIP, for interconnected circuit switched and IP telephony network. Design of extensions to the TRIP protocol. Prototype implementation of the TRIP protocol. Master's thesis.
Apr. 1998 - Sep. 2000 Project IPANA
Comparison of the SIP and H.323 protocols (special assignment).
